** NEWS UPDATE **

International Coalition of College Philanthropists funds a new business opportunity for the 2,000 residents of the Ghanaian village of Blekusu. News Release

The International Coalition of College Philanthropists (ICCP) represents the new millennium's greatest movement forward in youth leadership and nonprofit fundraising. An ambitious initiative, the ICCP endeavors to engage the untapped philanthropic, collegiate demographic to create the first prestigious, international, philanthropic honor society on college campuses around the world--an analogue to The Phi Beta Kappa Society--in which non profit fundraising is encouraged, rewarded in special ceremony, and facilitated by chapters and their members at every major university. By creating unique benefit events tailored to the individual spirit of its university, and by learning to dialogue with the media about these philanthropic endeavors, each chapter will raise much needed non-profit dollars for international medical organizations (those well-established and those lesser known), cancer and neurological research, environmental initiatives, and micro-entrepreneurship--heightening media visibility for the causes, and encouraging a youth-quake of collegiate social action.

Now, with the passionate dedication of a group of our nation's most entrepreneurial, young leaders, winners of such prestigious academic and service awards as: the AXA Academic Achievement Scholarship, Coca-Cola National Scholarship, Nestle Very Best in Youth Scholarship, Caring Institute Scholarship, Toyota Community Scholars Award, as well as young leaders who have successfully established sustainable, charitable organizations in the past, the ICCP is opening its flagship chapter at Yale University, with others following at every Ivy League and major university across the country.

"  Having witnessed the successful humanitarian and fundraising synergy between music and medicine through my first organization, Children Helping Children, I now believe that young artists, social conscience raisers, and entrepreneurial philanthropists can have even greater success in making concrete changes for good in this world when strategically linked through the greatest collegiate institutions of our country via the newly founded International Coalition of College Philanthropists.  "
